WIKUS acquires the bimetal strip production and band saw blade distribution business of J.N. Eberle & Cie. GmbH and strengthens its Spangenberg site

Spangenberg, September 4, 2026 – As part of an asset deal, WIKUS has acquired the bimetal strip production and band saw blade distribution business of the insolvent J.N. Eberle & Cie. GmbH, based in Augsburg, Germany.

By transferring selected production assets, expertise and employees to a newly established subsidiary, the WIKUS Group is expanding its value chain to include a key upstream manufacturing capability. At the same time, the acquisition of the band saw blade business strengthens WIKUS' core business through additional customers and increased market share.

On September 4, 2026, the WIKUS Group signed the purchase agreement for the acquisition of substantial parts of the business operations of J.N. Eberle & Cie. GmbH. The transaction primarily includes the bimetal strip production business, together with selected production equipment and other assets, as well as parts of the existing band saw blade business. As part of the acquisition, 74 employees will transfer to the newly established subsidiary, which will become part of the WIKUS Group.

With this acquisition, the WIKUS Group is further strengthening its position in the international band saw blade market while expanding its expertise in bimetal strip production. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price or any further financial details of the transaction.

Expanded Value Chain and Additional Production Volume for the Spangenberg Site

Bimetal strip is a key component in the manufacture of band saw blades. By integrating this production step into its operations, the WIKUS Group is reducing its dependence on external upstream suppliers, increasing control over its value chain, and further strengthening its long-term security of supply and technological expertise.
At the same time, the additional band saw blade volumes resulting from the acquisition are expected to be produced at the WIKUS manufacturing site in Spangenberg in the future. This will further improve capacity utilization at the existing production facilities and strengthen the long-term prospects of the site.
