Spangenberg, 11 March 2021: The WIKUS saw factory is expanding the range of its WIkademy® training center. In future, webinars for application engineers and machine operators will increasingly supplement the training program, which has so far been geared primarily to trade and sales partners.
Not only during a crisis such as the Corona pandemic is it important to train employees extensively so that companies can leverage previously unused efficiency potential in the sawing process and then emerge stronger from the crisis. That's why WIkademy® is offering a new series of webinars entitled "Band sawing practice know-how" on various topics as online training for machine operators, dealers, purchasers, product managers, or employees in the technical field service and office service. The content is divided into blocks and can therefore easily be integrated into the daily work routine.
On the WIkademy® website, interested parties can find an overview of the dates and webinar contents, such as the technology of sawing for beginners or buying band saw blades cleverly and cost-efficiently. If interested, specific webinar dates may be viewed and booked on the website.
The new webinars of WIkademy® provide specialists with the necessary expertise to reduce costs per cut and increase productivity. This includes knowledge about the ideal band saw blade selection for the respective application, concrete application tips as well as corresponding know-how around an optimal machine condition. "The aim of the WIkademy® is to further increase and secure the quality of sawing applications worldwide," Frank Gresens, Head of the WIkademy®, explains. "WIKUS is a leader in sawing technology and we want to pass this knowledge on to our partners and customers in a practical way."
Within the framework of WIkademy®, WIKUS offers seminars and webinars at different levels - from the basics to specialized knowledge – in order to meet both professionals as well as employees without experience in sawing technology at their respective level of knowledge. The topics of the trainings are tailored to the focus of the respective country and the participants.
As soon as possible, in addition to the webinars, training sessions will again be held at the WIKUS headquarters in Spangenberg. Alternatively, the WIkademy® trainer will come to the respective company locations and conduct the seminars on site. The certified training courses offer the opportunity to get to know sawing expertise in technical depth and to apply the theory learned in practice right away. Another advantage is the personal exchange. An in-house seminar is particularly worthwhile for larger companies where sawing processes play a central role and significantly contribute to the profitability of the entire business.
Today, due to the shortage of skilled workers, companies sometimes have to train employees who have not previously worked with sawing technologies to become high-performance sawyers. Advanced training courses and online training help them to become even more confident in handling band saw blades. In addition, employees from the cutting department should know the specific features of their applications and at the same time be able to design sawing jobs more economically with the help of digital technologies. Therefore, in addition to the necessary theoretical knowledge, the seminars also include information on how to use the practice-oriented, digital tools and service solutions from WIKUS.
The positive feedback from the participants confirms the high practical relevance of the WIkademy®; learned contents can be applied directly in the sawing process. Cafer Demir, Managing Partner of Perko, distributor of sawing tools in Turkey, reports after completing a WIkademy® classroom seminar: "The best thing for me was to gain the ability to calculate cutting parameters by taking into account the material composition and the workpiece cross-section." Already since 2018, the WIkademy® has been training specialists and managers as well as employees from the production sector from all over the world and has been qualifying them to work with sawing technology.
