Efficient sawing of logs with innovative bimetal band saw blade

The new GENERO® bimetal band saw blade sets new standards for sawing soft, hard, and frozen wood with precision “Made in Germany”.

The growing conditions for the organic, renewable material wood are as varied as the requirements for the sawing tools. Environmental influences also have an effect on the wood and its possible uses. Heavily soiled bark, metal inclusions, and frozen wood place special demands on the tools used by sawmill operators, contract sawyers, and wood processors.

In order to always achieve optimum wood cuts, Europe’s largest band saw blade manufacturer WIKUS is now also making its more than 65 years of expertise in sawing metal available for woodworking. The GENERO® bimetal band saw blade excels in precise hardwood and softwood sawing and is ideal for both mobile and stationary sawmills as well as log and band resaws. The GENERO band saw blade consists of a hardened and tempered carrier material and welded high-speed steel (HSS). As a result, the teeth have a high degree of hardness and toughness that is otherwise primarily used in industrial metal cutting with a bimetal band saw blade.

The saw tooth is also resistant to wires that may have grown into the wood and which can lead to premature wear or tooth breakage in practice. Compared with traditional tool steel products, the bimetal band saw blade delivers a major boost in performance and extends blade life. This reduces production interruptions caused by belt changes and sharpening, thereby improving efficiency in wood processing worldwide.

The precise set of the GENERO® teeth ensures a straight cutting channel and a homogeneous surface. The rounded tooth base enables high continuous operations properties, fewer band cracks, and optimum chip removal. The finely blasted surface also reduces resin adhesion

B = band width, tpi = teeth per inch, H = tooth height, W = cutting angle, r = radius, L = left, R = right, G = straight

The band saw blade can also be resharpened several times and is available in dimensions from 27 × 0.9 to 41 × 1.1 mm and in the standard tooth pitches 13 (2 tpi) and 22 mm (1.15 tpi).
