Spangenberg, August 11th, 2022: A kick-off meeting marked the start of the project to implement a holistic environmental management system within the corporate structures of WIKUS. The goal: certification in accordance with the DIN EN ISO 14001 standard for environmental management systems in the second half of 2023.
ISO 14001 has been an internationally recognized basis for environmental management systems in companies since 1996. It defines the establishment, implementation, and maintenance of a holistic system, as well as its continuous monitoring and improvement within the company. In doing so, it provides a framework and further guidelines for the design and organization of environmentally relevant tasks in the corporate structure. With this certification, companies such as WIKUS demonstrate their ongoing commitment to ensuring and optimizing their environmental performance to their partners, customers, and suppliers.
The prudent use of resources on the path to environmentally conscious manufacturing and the saving of energy through innovative solutions will guide WIKUS in the long term. WIKUS successfully achieved recertification for the already implemented energy management system according to DIN EN ISO 50001. The intended certification of the environmental management system according to ISO 14001 is a further step of a long-term development towards holistic, environmentally friendly business practices. The focus will also be on optimizing processes for greater efficiency and continuously improving the quality of the products.
