The challenge that the com-pany Flender Industriegetriebe GmbH faced was to find a tool-based solution that covered a broad and in-creasingly complex material range in a secure process. Also, a universal band saw blade aimed to help avoid frequent and time-consuming blade replacements required as a result of the continuously growing lot sizes of different dimensions.

INSTEAD OF TWO, NOW ONLY ONE BAND SAW BLADE TYPE IS REQUIRED

Right from the outset, WIKUS-Sägenfabrik was on hand to offer comprehensive support to the company Flender Industriegetriebe GmbH and help them solve this task. Within a year, we were able to create a solu-tion that met all expectations. The use of the new band saw blade SKALAR^® PREMIUM M42 enabled this manufacturer of drive systems to optimise their cutting rates and tool lives. The long service life, the wide range of applications with various materials, and a low-vibration and smooth operating process led to the stabilisation of the overall sawing process and also reduced the variance and consumption of the band saw blades. Instead of two, Flender now only needs one band saw blade type which reduces the band saw blade cycles and saved time. In total, the company Flender Industriegetriebe GmbH has been able to save up to 20 %.
