Spangenberg 28.07.2021: – “WIKUS is rolling up its sleeves” – under this motto, the company vaccination campaign started in June 2021 at the German WIKUS site in Spangenberg in northern Hesse. More than 160 of the approximately 500 employees (as of July 2021) have now been vaccinated against the SARS-CoV 2 coronavirus. Other employees who belong to prioritization group 3 and older employees were offered vaccination. In addition to employees, customers and partners benefit above all from more flexible travel and contact options – for example, in the form of an expansion of face-to-face appointments for on-site technical consulting as needed. In this way, WIKUS ultimately ensures not only its ability to deliver, but also the individual support of the customer.
The vaccination campaign additionally provides customers and partners with optimized contact options for taking advantage of WIKUS’ service offering and consulting services. This is because these services, including needs analyses, planning, and solutions, can now once again increasingly be offered directly at the customer’s premises. Whether as before by telephone, virtually, or again on site: the WIKUS experts with application experience offer ongoing competent technical advice for all cases. Above all, the interdisciplinary involvement of various specialists contributes to the fast and competent solution of customer-, process-, and material-specific challenges in order to further optimize sawing processes – whether for routine, special, or highly complex application issues.
An internal WIKUS Corona team was already formed at the beginning of the pandemic in order to be able to implement all protective and hygienic measures consistently and safely during ongoing operations in the interests of employees and customers. Among other things, a comprehensive range of free self-tests and the option of remote working protected employees on site. With the help of the already existing, digital, and proven infrastructure at WIKUS, a smooth transition was achieved and WIKUS was able to offer all of its usual services digitally as well. Customers could choose to receive technical support and advice via video conferencing or telephone. All in all, the various measures continue to ensure that national and international activities in all production areas can be managed in an agile manner and that customers can continue to benefit from the usual product solutions and services from WIKUS.
At an early stage, the Corona team had intensively searched for possibilities of an in-house vaccination campaign for the employees in order to be able to quickly offer vaccinations. This was important in order to ensure the ability to deliver the products and not to endanger them due to corona-related downtimes in production and logistics. “The willingness of our colleagues to be vaccinated is strong,” explains Claudia Kaiser, Corporate Communications Officer at WIKUS, and adds: “We were able to make a vaccination offer with the vaccine from BioNTech possible at short notice in order to also offer younger and female employees a company vaccination. We are delighted with the strong start to the campaign, which will continue on an as-needed basis over the coming weeks.”
