Spangenberg, 4th of October 2021: WIKUS is once more presenting innovative and efficient solutions for sawing applications in Milan at EMO 2021: For the first time, Europe's largest band saw blade manufacturer will be presenting the sharpened bimetal portfolio, with its focus on the two band saw blades MARATHON® M42 and PRIMAR® M42. It has undergone a customer-oriented upgrade that is future-oriented and offers special added value, thanks to additional services
"Whether metal construction or the steel industry, constantly growing competitive pressure is being felt across all industrial sectors. To provide customers in this environment with the best possible support, we have made our bimetal product portfolio more customer-oriented and expanded our services further," Michael Möller, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Management Division Group of companies and sales, explains and goes on to say: "Thanks to these measures, WIKUS offers its customers and partners maximum benefits, which go beyond sawing tools."
By upgrading the bimetal range, the global metal sawing market leader offers its customers even greater flexibility in the application spectrum and more clarity in the selection process, while simultaneously maintaining the usual high quality. The new range focuses on one central product in each of the 1 and 2 performance levels, thereby making it easier for customers to select the right band saw blade. In the future, they will be able to select from two clearly differentiated products for almost all common applications.
The heart of the optimized bimetal product range are the MARATHON® M42 and PRIMAR® M42 band saw blades. For service-oriented users, MARATHON® M42 is the all-rounder in the Level 2 range. The bimetal band saw blade has been optimized for more complex performance and support requirements in the sawing process, such as those that are required for industrial applications, and it covers an even wider range of applications. The band saw blade is also suitable for all steels and non-ferrous metals, as well as large batch sizes, in addition to all cross-sections with diameters up to 1400 mm. PRIMAR® M42 is aimed at cost-conscious customers, providing an economical basic solution in the level 1 range.
The band saw blade is particularly well-suited for all steels and non-ferrous metals, small batch sizes and small to medium cross-sections with diameters up to 900 mm. In the future, MARATHON® M42 and PRIMAR® M42 will cover almost all common applications in the bimetal sector in the corresponding dimensions. For special applications in profile machining, the product PROFLEX® with profile tooth, special types of setting as well as with coating is still available. For difficult-to-cut materials or highest cutting performance, WIKUS additionally offers bandsaw blades with different coatings or in the X3000 version.
WIKUS service and consulting are available to customers and dealers when purchasing WIKUS saw tools. These are tailored to the needs of the different application groups. When purchasing a new MARATHON® M42, the services are included and customized to the customer's needs, in addition to being made available; when purchasing a PRIMAR® M42, they can be added as required. This way, the right service package can be customized and provided individually for each user group.
In addition to the service extension, MARATHON® M42 and PRIMAR® M42 have also been improved from a technological viewpoint. They now impress with superfinish, perfected setting accuracy, and a tooth tip quality that sets standards in cutting performance. Here, particularly noteworthy, is the new solvent-free corrosion protection, which not only enables better weldability but also brings the issue of sustainability into focus. This reflects WIKUS' recently awarded sustainable orientation: For environmentally conscious procurement and production, the company was distinguished with the Bronze Label of the EcoVadis platform in 2021.
In addition, customers benefit from digital solutions that offer many advantages beyond the sawing tools. For example, visitors to EMO 2021 can find out about digital tools and services such as WIstockIT®, which automates ordering processes, or the app-based ParaMaster® cutting data program. For the latter, MARATHON® M42 and PRIMAR® M42 are also equipped with high-quality printing on the belts, including QR codes, so that cutting parameters can be quickly retrieved and adjusted. WIstockIT®, meanwhile, opens up new options for customers in the digitization of procurement processes, in addition to reducing costs in purchasing and logistics, thereby offering sustainable added value. As a holistic solution provider, WIKUS takes over administrative tasks, relieves customers of time-consuming processes, and accompanies them on their way to digitalization – which completes the circle to the "Digital Factory" guiding theme of the EMO 2021 cutting data program.
An additional focus during the trade show will be on the high-performance circular saw blade KREOS®: It sets standards in the cutting of thin-walled tubes as well as profiles and, thanks to its patented joining technology, is recommended for customers who attach great importance to high cutting performance as well as multi-sawyers with mass cuts. A smaller, more variable tooth pitch ensures a cutting performance that is up to 40% higher than competitive products.
Customers can currently experience all the benefits of the sharpened bimetallic portfolio and comprehensive product and service offerings live from October 4-9, 2021, at the EMO 2021 World Machine Tool Exhibition in Milan at the WIKUS booth (Hall 5, Booth A12 B11).
